Corrough Wool Cardigan – Bark

This traditional Aran wool cardigan sweater comes in 100% wool and is made in a classic speckled light fawn brown with leather feel buttons, crew neckline, drop shoulder and front patch pockets. This cardigan has a semi cropped silhouette and is perfect with high waist jeans or worn over dresses.

In late September in 2022, I made the ferry voyage to the Aran Islands off the coast of western Ireland, to purchase myself a handmade wool sweater. The Aran Islands were once famed for their wool sweaters, though sadly, only one company is left on the island (there used to be many). We took a tour of the islands and our tour guide, told us nearly every family on the island worked in some way or form with the island’s biggest commodity. His family had been there for 7 generations and him and his wife were the last as their children moved away.
